Classroom Training Classes

SouthernCAM is the Official GibbsCAM Training Center for Southwest USA. We provide you with the most current GibbsCAM training available from our Certified Trainers. With plenty of one-on-one help provided, we’ll show you valuable tips and tricks to make your programming more efficient and productive.

Training Classes are held monthly at each of our GibbsCAM Training Centers (Houston and Plano, TX). Our classes run from 8am-5pm and schedule is as follows: Monday: Lathe, Tuesday & Wednesday: 2D Mill, Thursday: Solids and Advanced 3D, Friday: 5-Axis Mill.  Register for the day or days that work for you. A computer and workstation will be provided for each student. Class space is limited, and reservations are required as these classes fill up very quickly.

Monday: GibbsCAM Lathe

You will learn how to quickly create 2-axis geometry and generate 2-axis toolpaths while covering all aspects of the GibbsCAM Turning package.

Tuesday & Wednesday: 2D Mill

This two-day Mill class will cover 2D, 2.5D wireframe and simple 3-axis geometry and toolpath with options on Advanced Milling and Polar & Cylindrical Milling.

Thursday: Solids

Our Solids class is a detailed class that teaches creating and machining 3-axis solid and surface part models, importing Parasolid’s and IGES Cad files, and Advance Milling. Each student must have completed the 2-day Production Mill class first. This class will cover Solid Import & 2.5D Solids (GO Solids) and SolidSurfacer (GO Pro) GibbsCAM Modules.

Friday: 5-Axis

This one-day class details tool path for Surface Flow, Surface Lace Cutting, Swarf Cut, engraving, and 3D Contour. The class covers a range of functionalities dedicated to 5-axis programming. Learn to create a tool path for full 4-Axis parts such as “J“ Slots and how to move the tool off centerline in “Y“ axis easily. Students need to be proficient in either GO Solids or GO Pro.
